It's a....

Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from Him.
Psalm 127:3

It's a BOY!!! I was so excited to find out that I couldn't sleep last night. I was so convinced that it was going to be a girl because everything about this pregnancy has been completely different than when I was pregnant with Carson. That is ok, though! I am so happy that Carson will have a little brother. I already know that they're going to be the best of friends, and will be so close, and nothing could make me happier than that.

I didn't think he was going to show us his stuff, because he kept his legs crossed for quite a while. The ultrasound technician asked if I was ok... I guess she could tell I was nervous and anxious! I told her I was fine, but I just really had my heart set out finding out what our little bug was and she said, "Oh, we'll find out! I don't give up that easily!" Sure enough, she got him to quit being shy and it just made my day! She then printed off some pictures and handed them to Carson. He was SO proud of them. He brought them over to show me and Clay, saying, "Look! See my baby brudder?" It was so sweet!

I feel so priviledged to be having another precious little boy. He is measuring right on time and the doctor told me everything looks perfect. What a blessing!

Here are a few pictures from today:

Christmas Break!!

Today was the last day of school before Christmas break. It was so much fun! We played games, made crafts, ate pizza and snack, and just had a blast. I am so grateful for a long break. I sure need it! I will miss my students, though. They really are great.

I took a picture of my belly at 15 weeks yesterday morning. I didn't realize how pregnant I really look until I saw the picture.

Here are Clay and Carson this evening in an early Chrismtas gift from me.... Matching Polo sweaters. Aren't they handsome!? Carson sure enjoyed hamming it up for the camera.

My First Adventure in Blogging

I thought I would finally jump on the blogging bandwagon.  I wanted a way to document my second pregnancy and keep everyone updated on what's going on with our family.  I've been searching the Internet for quite a while this morning trying to figure out how to make my blog cute like all of the other ones I see.  Please bear with me as I try to figure all of this out!

On September 30th I found out that we would be welcoming a second baby into our family.  I was so excited and could hardly contain the news.  Even though I was only about 4 weeks along, we spilled the beans to family and friends right away!  At a little over 9 weeks we had our first ultrasound and baby was already dancing and moving all over the place.  I am thinking that this one will be much different than Carson, because he was always very mellow in the womb.

At about 12.5 weeks I saw the maternal-fetal specialist for genetic testing. Everything came back great, and I got to see our little June Bug again! He or she was moving all around again. It is just so awesome to see that! I go back on December 29th, when I'll be 16.5 weeks along, and we should be able to find out the sex of the baby then! I can hardly wait!

So far, this pregnany had been completely different than it was when I was pregnant with Carson. With Carson, I was sick and completely exhausted everyday for about 6 months. With this one, I've only had a couple of bouts of sickness and really have had quite a bit of energy. No extreme fatigue, like I remember with Carson. So far everything is just great. I've been really blessed!
